Do I need any previous Model UN experience?

No, all are welcome at the conference regardless of experience.

How should I prepare?

Do research on your assigned committee, country, and topic. Look through the background guide in your committee description. Additionally, you can complete a position paper to outline your country/character's specific interests

Can I request a specific nation or character?

You can request specific nations for General Assembly when you sign up, but you cannot request specific characters for Crisis or Specialized committees.

Does signing up cost money?

Yes, there is a $15 price per delegate and $25 delegation fee.

How can I join without a school?

Single delegates are welcome to join for a price of $20 with no delegation fee, just make that known on your sign up in the section about any additional information.

Are there awards?

Yes, IslandMUN gives out a variety of awards based on merit, delegates must complete position papers to be eligible for awards. Here is the link to our award guidelines.
